EN TOEN WAS HIJ WEG afscheid na 19 jaar trouwe dienst….
Ja, het moest er toch van komen, de Toyota die zo dienstbaar was, is weg. Was al zo oud en ging wat mankementen krijgen. De transmissie haperde af en toe en als je snel,optrekken moest, was dit toch wel een probleem. Daarom gebruikte hij ook veel meer brandstof dan normaal. Ook moesten de banden vel vaker opgepompt worden, omdat ze gewoon langzaam leeg liepen.
Wat heeft deze auto zijn best gedaan, om zoveel te vervoeren. Zelf een keer vanuit Nederland naar Spanje gereden met heel veel spullen erin. Het was een ideale auto om te verhuizen, wat we hier in de winter naar de zomer en van de zomer naar de winter ook menig maal hebben gedaan. Ook voor de hondjes was het een ideaal vervoermiddel. Zoveel ruimte achterin. En ook zelfs op het dak zijner bedden en matrassen vervoerd, zal even zoeken of ik daar de foto nog van kan vinden.
Ja, en wat dan? Na lang zoeken en kijken en proefrijden, is het deze mooi rode rakker geworden: de Jeep Renegate .
